A Walk Around the Farm

Our dairy herd is made up of mostly registered Nubian goats and a couple Saanen girls. We also have a small herd of Pygora goats for fiber.

Our
Blog

Our goal is to eventually be mostly self sufficient here on our homestead. We don't have enough room to raise beef, so we have Kune Kune pigs, a couple meat rabbit breeds, and raise chickens, ducks, and geese to supplement our meat needs, along with our gardens and orchard to cover much of the rest. Follow our blog to see how we make it all work on little acreage, with full time jobs and a couple side hustles!

THE GARDEN

GARDENING AND PRESERVATION

Homesteading, for me, began at the tender age of about 10. My parents never had grown anything up that point, but for some reason, my dad did that year. I was hooked. I've loved getting my hands in the soil ever since. Follow along for tips, tricks, fails and successes as we attempt each year to grow and preserve enough food for all year for our family.
